We’re guessing this isn’t a date, but President Obama has asked the first black Miss Israel to join him for dinner when he visits her country next week.
Obama insisted Israeli President Shimon Peres call 21-year-old Yityish Aynaw, who was born in Ethiopia, to see if she was available for a gala dinner Peres is hosting next Thursday. Boy, was she available.
Aynaw says she’s “very excited” to attend and “never thought that such a thing could happen” to her. Asked why she reckoned she’d landed the invite, she said she was “the first black Miss Israel to be chosen and [Obama] is the first black American president.
